Interview: Poland

OTDYKH Leisure team launches new interview series with heads of international tourism boards on their experience, forecasts, recent updates and tips during forced isolation.

#PolandDontCancelPostpone. This is the message on the Polish Tourism Organization website, which, by the way, marks its 20th anniversary this year. Ms. Magdalena Crych shares in her interview how the Moscow office is operating now.

How are you feeling today? In what format do you and your colleagues continue to work?

I’m looking forward to getting back to normal work. Right now, we are working remotely, we are constantly in touch with colleagues, and I regularly participate in video conferences.

It’s important now not to cut off communication with partners and clients. Could you share your experience with your Russian and international colleagues, how do you continue promoting your destination in a situation where borders are closed?

Currently, all our promotion activities are mostly online. There is an online-academy for health tourism in Poland. We are very active on social media, for example, we organized recently a family contest on Facebook “Children’s colouring books”. We are developing a few very interesting projects and will launch them in the near future.

Forecasts are now made very carefully, but still... According to your assessment at this time, when do you expect tourist flow recovery, including from Russia?

I very much count on tourism to start recovering in autumn and that Russian tourists will be able to visit Poland.

One last question. Let’s imagine we are on the verge of ending the pandemic. Where would you personally go immediately after all borders open and transport logistics are restored?

I’ll first go to Poland to my family, whom I miss very much. Online communication will never replace live interaction with your family.
