Site Executive Summit Sets Sights on Business Growth in India

Recognizing the power and potential of the business market in India, Site chose Delhi as the location of its eighth annual Site Executive Summit.

The economy of India is ranked eleventh in the world, with healthy annual GDP growth making it on pace to quickly move up in its economic ranking. The strength and size of the India market means business for the motivational events and incentive travel segment, which is what the Site Executive Summit focused on.

Mary MacGregor, Site President, Vice President Account Development, BCD Meetings & Incentives stated: "We know that many global travelers are ready to experience rich and unique destinations, and India can deliver on both of those points. The Site members in India provide expert services to the inbound market, so we look to see growth in the near future. The potential here for Indian companies to take groups outbound is enormous and so quality education will be key in this expanding region. "

In addition to the Executive Summit, Site leaders met with the office of the Ministry of Tourism, significant hoteliers, business operators and media. All meetings focused on raising the profile of India on the world stage and touched on topics such market messaging, pricing, perceptions and infrastructure. What was very clear is that Site professionals in the region know how to offer impeccable incentive quality experiences.

Site India represents the most recent Chapter addition in the expanding Site global network. The 2011 installment of the Executive Summit brought together 95 delegates from Delhi, Mumbai, Bombay, Nepal and other key locations on the continent. Delegates were a mix of Site members and industry professionals representing incentive houses, destination management companies, hoteliers and other related organizations.

Rajeev Kohli, Host Committee Chair for Executive Summit 2011 and jt. managing director, Creative Travel Pvt. Ltd. stated, "The coming of the Site International Board of Directors to India for the Site Executive Summit was a recognition of India's place in the world of incentives and of our place as an emerging incentive destination. The Indian tourism industry in totality was extremely excited on the arrival of Site and we see great opportunities for business to take place between all Site members, both into India and outbound as well."

Site gratefully acknowledges the following partners who made the event possible: The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts; Le Meridian New Delhi; Kingdom of Dreams; Oberoi Hotels & Resorts; and Jet Airways. 03.03.2011
