I am happy to welcome you on behalf of the Moscow Tourism and Hospitality Committee.
Tourism in Russia is on the verge of new achievements and discoveries. It is symbolic that Moscow hosts MATIW, one of the most important and dynamically developing exhibitions of the industry. Today the capital of Russia faces the task of turning the city into a large travel center that annually receives millions of visitors from other Russian regions and from abroad. Moscow is changing every day: new hotels and cultural centers are being built, interesting events are held. The service is improving and the navigation system is renewing. New excursion routes are appearing. And I am very happy that these changes are reflected in the expositions of
MATIW 2011 demonstrates clearly the new trends in the development of Russian travel industry as a whole. Adventure, rural, ecological tourism is becoming more and more popular. The exhibition will show various travel products which guarantee the unforgettable experiences while travelling in Russia and abroad.
It is great that the regional exposition presenting Russia as a very interesting destination has expanded this year. I am confident that Moscow may very soon become one of the leaders of the world’s travel industry.
