Large-scale participation of Japan in the exhibition Otdykh/Leisure-2011

National Travel Organization of Japan announced about its participation in the International Travel Exhibition Otdykh/Leisure-2011. In light of recent events in the Land of the Rising Sun, this news is especially notable.

Intention to represent the country on the international travel arena shows the revival of tourism in Japan after the devastating earthquake and tsunami, occurred in March this year.

Millions of tourists from around the world visit Japan annually. During the exhibition delegation of Japan will present its latest achievements in tourism and recreation, will describe the most popular destinations and attractions. Organizers of Otdykh/Leisure-2011 will be glad to introduce their Asian colleagues to the guests of the event.

In addition, for the first time at the travel exhibition in Russia Okinawa Prefecture, the birthplace of Karate and the famous Japanese beach holiday will have its separate booth. Okinawa is often called the most secret resort in Southeast Asia.

This is a place where you are not just able to enjoy its sun and beaches, but also you can appreciate local culture, cuisine and customs, which are fundamentally different from other regions of Japan.

In his public address to the media (August 19, 2011) Minister of Tourism Office of Japan Mizohata Hiroshi expressed deep gratitude for the contribution of the media in providing information on tourism of Japan — «After the earthquake of March 11 we began to receive support from representatives of many countries and regions of the world. This support gave us „force“ that helps us in the recovery of Japan.»

Also, Mr. Hiroshi expressed hope that visits to Japan by foreign tourists will resume. — «Fortunately, many parts of Japan are absolutely not affected by this disaster, which allows us to accommodate tourists and provide services as usual.

Our strong desire is to provide foreign tourists with a pleasant journey to «Japan — a country of endless discoveries, and admiration.»

In this regard, September, 1 we are launching a campaign to attract foreign tourists to Japan under the motto of «hospitality." According to this campaign we are planning to provide with benefits more than 2000 tourists attractions and shops (it is also planned to increase this number).

Visit the booths of Japan and Okinawa Prefecture from 21 till 24 September 2011 in IEC «Crocus Expo»!
