Colors of the North at Otdykh LEISURE

One of the most promising regions of Russia the Nenets Autonomous Okrug (NAO) will present its joint exposition at the coming in September exhibition Otdykh LEISURE.

The Nenets Autonomous Okrug is a rich and unique culture, a region full of traditions, illimitable space of tundra, with its own system of reindeer breeding, huge reserves of hydrocarbons, access to the Arctic seas and much more.

NAO is extremely interesting for its geographical position — much of the district is located above the Arctic Circle, bordering the White Sea, Kara Sea, Barents and Pechora Seas, as well as for the natural resources — the area is smothered in the northern tundra and taiga.

Currently the district demonstrates an active growth and increasing popularity of eco and ethno-tourism. The NAO territory is a center of a vast number of unique natural monuments, reserve museums and sanctuaries. Here are just a few ones of what visitors of the exhibition Otdykh LEISURE will be able to find at the stand of the NAO: Historical and Cultural Landscape Reserve Museum «Pustozersk», natural monument «Pym-Ba-Shore» (translated from Komi — «a stream of hot water»), nature reserves «Shoinsky», «Nizhepechersky», natural monument «Canyon» Big gates» and so on.

Representatives of the NAO traditionally prepare an extensive program for guests of the exhibition which includes traditional dances, songs and ceremonies.
