Welcome address to the MATIW exhibitors and guests by Yuri Barzykin, the Vice President of the Russian Union of Tourism Industry

On behalf of the Russian Union of the Tourism Industry I would like to welcome exhibitors and guests to the Moscow Autumn Travel Industry Week MATIW that for 19 years has carried out an essential communication mission for travel & tourism industry. The Russian Union of the Tourism Industry that this year celebrates the 20th anniversary, has always been the partner of the exhibition.

We have a successful anniversary year, and are actively involved in solving actual problems of the Russian tourist industry. In particular, a few days ago the Russian government has supported our proposal to simplify visa formalities for foreign citizens arriving to Russia in transit via international airports. Now they can stay in Russia for 72 hours without visa. According to the first six months of 2013, the foreign tourists’ arrivals to Russia increased by 6% comparing to the same period in 2012. We expect that the new rules will contribute to this trend progression significantly.

The Russian Union of the Tourism Industry does its best to support Russian travel business, especially the member companies of our Union that participate in MATIW. This project offers unique opportunities for communication among professionals and attraction of new partners and clients. With its wide experience, Euroexpo demonstrates its commitment to addressing corporate issues of travel industry, including promotion of Russian tourism opportunities in domestic and international markets. We highly appreciate these efforts.

I would like to wish all participants and guests successful work and achievement of the set goals and new perspectives!

Yuri Barzykin Vice President of the Russian Union of Tourism Industry.
