Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Travel Operators (MATATO) has revealed their participation at the OTDYKH Leisure 2018

After some years of absence, the Maldives Association of Travel Agents & Tour Operators (MATATO) returns to the exhibition to enlarge the South Asian area at OTDYKH Leisure 2018!

MATATO was founded in 2006, by a group of tour operators of the Maldives. Currently, the association represents more than 50 travel agents and tour operators in the Maldives.

MATATO had successfully participated in the fair four years before, using its presence at OTDYKH to access one of the fastest-growing tourism markets in the world, to establish face-to-face contacts and to meet local partners from all over Russia and the CIS.

Maldives is the most popular destination among the “expensive island exotics” in Russia. According to statistics, in 2017 around 61,931 Russian tourists visited the country. Thats 33 % higher than in 2016, which is not surprising. Maldives is a dream destination for winter sun. White sand beaches, crystal waters, rich marine life, sunny weather around the year make it the number one destination for those who wish to escape the cold Russian winter. Currently, Russian tourists are in the “top five” of nationalities who spend their holidays in Maldives.

Maldivian Companies, including travel agents, tour operators and hoteliers will participate with MATATO, under the destination banner Maldives. Members of the travel trade are invited to visit the stand to find out more about the latest travel offers, trends and innovations in Maldives tourism.
