On September 13, 2022, at the International Forum-Exhibition “LEISURE 2022”, a number of Agreements on mutual cooperation in the field of tourism were signed between the Ministry of Tourism of the Samara Region and the shipping company “Volga Travel”, the airline “Red Wings”, Russian Railways, a tourist aggregator Ostrovok and the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs. These Agreements are of particular importance for the region’s tourism industry.
The agreement with the shipping company “Volga Travel” is aimed at further development of the program for high-speed passenger ships “Valdai-45R”. This year, two vessels were launched on routes to the remarkable villages of the Samara region – Shiryaevo and Vinnovka. “By the start of the new navigation in 2023, we expect the delivery of two more vessels and the testing of new routes, which we will announce directly in the next season of 2023. Guests of the Samara region appreciated the new comfortable type of travel. Over a month and a half since the launch of the Valdaev-45R program, these ships have transported more than 12,000 passengers,” said Artur Abdrashitov, Minister of Tourism of the Samara Region.
In 2022, the Red Wings airline has formed a real air hub for itself in the Samara region. The region has been participating in the program of subsidized flights for several years now, thus making travel from other regions of our country to the Samara region very affordable. Tourists have the opportunity to get to the Samara region by direct flights at an attractive price. “Red Wings Airlines this season operates flights from Tyumen, Yekaterinburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Yerevan, Istanbul, Antalya, Almaty and Magas. And in our joint plans to increase this figure. We approach the choice of each direction carefully and plan to implement a number of advertising campaigns and programs to promote new directions,” commented Artur Abdrashitov.
Railway transport today is in the lead in terms of the method of arrival on the territory of the Samara region, and railway travel has become the basis for the tourist product of both interregional travel and special tours in the Samara region. “Retrotour on a Steam Locomotive”, “Knowledge Car”, “Bright Weekends in the Volga Region”, “All Shades of Zhigulevsky”, “It’s Better to Go to the Theater by Train”, “Train to the Plein Air” – this is just a small list of the programs that we implemented together with Kuibyshev railways and with the Kuibyshev branch of the Federal Passenger Company,” the minister of the regional ministry shared.
“After the departure of a number of foreign aggregators, it was extremely important for us to find a reliable partner for integrating our tourism and hospitality industry facilities into domestic booking systems,” Abdrashitov shared, “Thus, having taken an important step, the Ostrovok.ru travel aggregator is actively implementing this today direction with us.”
The Minister of Tourism of the Samara Region said that every year, large-scale events are held in the Samara Region and the region is maximally prepared for them. After the signing of the Agreement with the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs, the region will begin to implement large-scale events that are important not only for a particular industry in relation to which they take place, but also for generating a business tourist flow to the Samara region and events that really change the social economic life of the Samara region, according to the press service of the Ministry of Tourism of SO.
