Association for Assistance to Tourist Technologies, the Sponsor of the Internet Centre at the exhibition, held a series of seminars dedicated to innovation technologies in tourism.

Russia’s leading tour operators and members of TBG travel community discussed the situation in the Russia’s tourism market and the current anti-crisis measures at the 7th Conference “TBG. Travel brands”.

Seminars, press conferences, country presentations and workshops were held by national and regional tourism authorities, private companies, airlines etc.

National music and dance performances of Argentina, Indonesia, Paraguay, Malaysia, Egypt and many other countries help to relax after busy seminar programme and to feel great spirit of cultures from all over the world!

In 2014 OTDYKH LEISURE exhibition celebrated its 20th anniversary with a new advertising campaign WE LOVE TRAVEL.

National and regional tourism boards, private companies, hotels and airlines from 67 countries and 23 regions of Russian Federation joined the 20th edition of OTDYKH Leisure 2014.

This year, MEXICO has become Partner country of OTDYKH. It was represented by a record number of 27 companies from all parts of Mexico.

For the first time Paraguay and Emirate Ajman demonstrated their tourist destinations and services.

Ho Chi Minh Tourism Promotion Centre organized a joined Vietnamese stand with over 15 resorts, hotels and incoming companies from Vietnam and held a seminar about Vietnam and its tourism facilities.

The exclusive expositions of the UAE, China, Turkey, Argentina, Dominican Republic, Egypt and Thailand were very popular among visitors during all exhibition days. Special expositions of TEZ Tour and Coral Travel occupied separate hall. Tour Operators like PEGAS Touristik, Anex Tour, Natalie Tours, Brisco, Russian Express, ICS Travel Group and many more welcomed partners to their outstanding, large-scale stands.

Being well known as a must attend show for long haul and winter sun destination, OTDYKH Leisure welcomed a great number of companies and authorities from Asia, Arab Counties and Latin America.

Prominent stands of Argentina, Dominican Republic, Cuba, Columbia, Paraguay etc attracted visitors with winter programs and cultural performances. Stands of exotic islands like Jamaica, Seychelles or Maldives were also highlights in winter-sun travel area.

Asia was widely represented by traditional exhibitors and large active stands of Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, India, Sri Lank, Singapore etc.

Exclusive stands of Emirates of Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Fujairah, Ajman, Ras al Khaimah were busy showing Arabic hospitality and business approach to exhibiting.

Stands of Andorra, Grand Canaria and Andalucía were well busy as usual. Italian tour operators Gartour and Italcamel offered winter programmes, newcomer Torsvag Havelske presented exciting fishing adventures in the fjords of Norway

Attestation seminars for travel agents on Catalonia and Bulgaria were held by the Catalan Tourist Board and the Ministry of Economy and Tourism of Bulgaria together with the Association of Tour Operators of Russia.

Exhibitors and visitors had an opportunity to attend the exiting events prepared by OTDYKH exhibitors. Travel trends of the coming winter season were highlighted by the National Tourism Organization of Serbia and the Ministry of Economy and Tourism of Bulgaria. Paraguay Ministry of Tourism made a spectacular presentation “Feel Paraguay”.

This year, 23 Russian regions prepared interesting entertainment programmes, as well as interactive performances, seminars, shows, contests and presentations of tourism opportunities. Visitors had a chance to take part in the master classes on making Rostov enamel, on painting traditional Rostov clay whistles, as well as food and drink tasting, including flambe — chilled pink duck with caramelized apples, domestic cakes, Russian kvass, pumpkin jam, local liqueurs, Romanov beer and meads.

HIGHLIGHT 2014 — IT Technology Conference

3rd International Conference for IT technologies “Anti-crisis IT tools in tourism business” was again a highlight of OTDYKH Leisure. This year, the conference was sponsored by “”.

Irina Voroshilova, the Conference moderator and general director of “Voroshilova and Partners” internet agency, noted: “Statistics show that 69 million people out of 140 million audience use internet every month, so the application of modern IT-technologies is essential for successful tourism business. This year is very difficult for tourism industry, so the Conference was called ‘Anti-crisis IT tools in tourism’. It is designed to show how to get out of the current crisis with minimal losses”.

The first and the most intensive session was dedicated to IT tools for travel agencies. During the session representatives of tour operators, booking and e-payment systems spoke about the latest industry trends.

Elena Miroshnikova, operations director of “SAMAP” Ltd. explained the benefits of connection and using the acquiring system for small business.

Alexander Shvedov, the technical director of “I’way” shared with the audience the principles of using Russia’s first transfers booking system. By creating tourism products the tour operators always include sightseeing programme: the benefits of Excursiopedia, the Europe’s largest guide services database were highlighted by Valentin Dombrowski, Excursiopedia vice-president on innovations.

Kirill Nikonov and Dariya Glazko, representatives of “” made a presentation on how a travel agency can use the website as an anti-crisis tool.

Several conference spots were dedicated to marketing and promotion through social media, first of all russi’s most visited platforms and Vkontakte.

Alexander Zhitkov from Airnbnb, a newcomer of the Conference reported on biggest start-up in tourism over the past 3 years. Andrey Vorobiev from Adlabs uncovered the statistics on mobile tourist traffic conversion: the share of hotel booking services made from mobile gadgets has increased by 33% compared with 2013 year, and for flights — by 68%.

The programme of the mobile session included the presentation of a new iPhone application of TopTripTip travel guides. Andrey Kovnir spoke about 3-year development of MoiTuristy cloud service for travel agencies. Maria Shalina from Euroset Retail convinced the audience that selling flights and travel services through “Euroset” shops is not a competition, but a way of partnership and cooperation with travel agencies.

YOU ARE OUR FUTURE- “Career & Education” Conference

“Career & Education” Conference was held within OTDYKH for the first time. The Conference was designed to help graduate students and young professionals to find job and to improve their professional and competitive skills. Official Partners of the Conference were the Association of Tour Operators of Russia and SuperJob online recruitment portal.

The Conference was held under the slogan “You are our future” and aroused great interest of the audience. The event, focused on students and young professionals has become a social project of “Euroexpo” and was aimed to support the next generation of travel industry professionals. The mission of the forum was to show the graduates of specialized educational institutions the prospects for future work in travel industry, as well as to give practical advices on employment, successful CV drafting and interviewing.

The idea of such a conference was fully supported by the Association of Tour Operators of Russia. Ms.Maya Lomidze, the Conference moderator and the executive director of the Association said: “Tourism industry undoubtedly needs young professionals who have great desire to go ahead, to develop and introduce new ideas. Everyone whether a graduate or a person with experience, should have a fundamental knowledge of tourism and understand the current situation in the industry in order to build a successful career.”

As every year, leading Russian tour operators and members TBG travel community discussed the situation in the Russia’s tourism market and the current anti-crisis measures at the 7th Conference “TBG. This year Gourmet & Wine Travel section was organized as part of OTDYKH Luxury. It combined an exposition of gourmet travel companies, a special area for cooking master classes and an international conference on gourmet travel.

The exposition welcomed Chateau Maison Noble (France), FrancoTour (France/Russia), Ad Hoc il Tartufo (Italy), GEAC Spa (Italy), Museum of Russian Desserts, Inkerman-Wine Tours etc.

The highlight of the exhibition was an area of cooking master classes organized by the exhibition partner “KhlebSol” magazine with Julia Vysotskaya, one of the most famous Russian actresses and moderators.

13 countries showed the best of cuisine within a busy schedule of master classes: Uzbekistan, Russia, Hungary, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Mexico, China, Slovakia, Thailand, Serbia, Japan, Italy, UAE, Serbia. Some classes were sponsored by Natalie Tours and Transaero Tour.

Exhibitors of OTDYKH LUXURY had an opportunity to organize seminars, presentations, withdrawing in a special OTDYKH Lounge Zone. Thus, Blue Sea Weddings agency prepared a special show “Once upon a time in Greece” and made a withdrawing of a wedding in Greece for two. Pleasant & Gorgeous, the Palace of Congresses, Welna Eco Resort, World of Brazil made spectacular presentations. Fetiche and Slavian Tours showed exciting movies about Spanish ski resort of Baqueira Beret and Brazilian regions.


1st International Conference on food and wine travel “Tasteful Journey” was a great success. It was moderated by Leonid Gelibterman, the president of the International enogastronomic center.

Special guest from Portugal — José Borralho, Member of Board of Advisors of the World Food Travel Association and President of the Portuguese Culinary Tourism and Economy Association spoke about development of gourmet tourism in luxury segment. Presentation of Clara Ceretto, Head of Marketing & Information Department of the Langhe Roero Tourist Board (Italy) was dedicated to the World Heritage vineyards and truffle in South Piedmont. Pierre Gabriel Papadia, the General Council of the Embassy of Italy in Moscow was also among honoured guests and speakers.

Lyudmila Nikitina, the editorial director of Jamie Magazine in Russia reported on the peculiarities of marketing and promotion of wine and gourmet tours in the world. Olga Loba nova from Yaroslavl Convention Bureau spoke about gourmet tourism trips to the famous Russian Golden Ring. Mr. Victor Michleson, from Slow Food Moscow invited all delegates to the First International Gourmet Festival “Russian Taste”.

At the end of the conference, many of its 260 delegates had a chance to taste an outstanding French wine from Chateau Maison Noble.

10th International Conference OTDYKH Medical Tourism, SPA & Health brought together Russian and International travel agencies, medical centres, spa and wellness resorts. Since 10 years, the Conference is a must for everyone who is involved in health tourism.

According to event moderator Ms. Nadezhda Manshina, the dialogue between speakers and delegates has been focused on safety and health protection of tourists.

Four sessions of intense conference programme were dedicated to current developments and forecasts for the future of health travel services. Speakers reported on how to add value in a medical travel, how to effectively promote medical services in internet etc. Andrea Szegedi made an overview of Hungarian health services providers, Anna Carrillo Arcas talked about applying Ayurvedic medicine in spa and wellness centres, Mehmet Kadir Öcal talked about Turkish success in health travel promotion.
