The Culinary Tourism Academy will be organized within OTDYKH International Forum for Tourism in order to promote territories through creating culinary brands and informing the general public about the area’s gastronomic opportunities.
The Academy’s business programme is aimed to consolidate the market players and to discuss the potential and difficulties in creating new routes. The 2nd International Food & Wine Tourism Conference “Tasteful Journey?” will be held on 19 September. The Conference moderator Leonid Gelibterman, president of the International Enogastronomy Centre will open the Conference with a report on “Culinary tourism: global trends and Russian realities”.
One of the most important items on the agenda of the open discussion is the practical issues of food and wine tours organization on the example of successful “Culinary Map of Russia” project. The results of the project will be presented by Svetlana Sergeeva, the adviser to the head of the Federal Agency for Tourism, and Ekaterina Urlina-Shapovalova the project supervisor.
Experts representing the Federation of Restaurateurs and Hoteliers of Russia, the Russian Culinary Association, the Union of Vine Growers and Winemakers of Russia, Abrau Durso, Simple Travel, Kaliningrad Street Food, Volga Tour, Zhyvaya Karta will share their experience with the Conference delegates.
The visitors will have a closer look at Russia’s food & wine opportunities during cooking master classes using local products, which contribute to a more complete immersion in the specifics of the local cuisine and the region as a whole, and the promotion of gastronomic routes and the operators providing services in this area. Among the Russian regions, Republic of Komi, Yugra Khanty Mansi Autonomous Area, Yaroslavl region, Vladimir region, Moscow region, Tver region, Vologda region, Tula region, and Ryazan region will be presenting their culinary traditions.
