Medical tourism is now one of the fastest growing tourism sectors in the world, so OTDYKH Medical Tourism, Spa & Health exposition increases and attracts new exhibitors every year.
Otdykh Medical Tourism, Spa & Health Conference and Exposition took place within OTDYKH International Travel Market on 16-19 September. Among the newcomers of the medical tourism exposition were Art-Voyage (Belorussia), Berman Tourism Israel, Ilmed (Israel), INFICARE Korea (South Korea), SAGE Consultancy (Turkey), Bankok Hospital Pattaya (Thailand), MedEspoir (Tunisia), and Lithuanian Medical Tourism Cluster. Health and recreation leisure opportunities were presented by Chakra Ayurvedic Resort (India), Welna eco-resort (Russia), Energetikas (Lithuania), Fregat sanatorium (Russia), Pomegranate Spa Hotel (Greece), TermeKrka (Slovenia) Thai Pattara Spa (Russia/Thailand), and SAVA Turizem (Slovenia).

On 17 September OTDYKH hosted the International Conference OTDYKH Medical Tourism, SPA & Health. The Conference has brought together Russian and international travel agencies, medical centres, spa and wellness resorts for 10 years.
Nadezhda Manshina, the health tourism expert has been a permanent moderator of the Conference. In the welcome address at the Conference opening she said: “The world statistics accounts health tourism and treatment abroad together, so we have traditionally combined the discussion of the topical issues in these sectors. During the last two years the dialogue between speakers and delegates has been focused on safety and health protection of tourists”.
The programme of events was divided into 4 sessions. The first session was opened by Elena Yurchenko, the Minister of Resorts and Tourism of the Crimea, who presented the famous Crimean resorts.
The second session was dedicated to the current development trends and the forecasts for the future. Grazvydas Morkus, the director of LITCARE Lithuanian Medical Cluster, made an interesting report on the integration of services and creating added value in medical tourism. The report of Yuriy Fedulov, Director of St. Petersburg Affiliate of “Ashmanov & Partners” was dedicated to the new trends, opportunities and obstacles of medical websites promotion in Runet.
Andrea Szegedi, the Doctor of Geographical Sciences and the famous Hungarian health tourism expert held a practical course of booking and positioning of health services providers.
Prospects and opportunities of applying Ayurvedic medicine in spa and wellness centres were highlighted by Anna Carrillo Arcas, the president of the Russian-Indian Ayurvedic Association.
The final session of the Conference, dedicated to the international destinations of medical tourism arouse the great interest among the delegates. Mehmet Kadir Ocal, health tourism director of Sage International Consultancy shared the secrets of Turkey success in this area. The report of Larisa Safran, Managing Partner of ILmed, was dedicated to the benefits of medical tourism in Israel. Natasha Nikolich, head of medical department of Sava hotels & resorts spoke about using natural factors and the latest medical innovations in treatment and rehabilitation in Slovenia.
On 16-18 September the Lounge Zone of OTDYKH Medical Tourism, Spa & Health and OTDYKH Luxury hosted a series of non-stop open seminars. Lithuaninan Medical and Diagnostic Centre held a seminar “Resorts, treatment and medicine in Lithuania” for the exhibitors and visitors of the show.
The 11th International Conference and Exposition Otdykh Medical Tourism, Spa & Health will take place on 15-18 September 2015 in IEC “Crocus Expo”.
